Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
The Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) Course is designed for Certified Flight Instructors who want to specialize in teaching instrument flight operations. This program provides the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to instruct pilots in instrument navigation, flight planning, and operations in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC). Combining thorough ground and flight training, the CFII course prepares you to guide students toward achieving their instrument proficiency.
Ground School
- Fundamentals of Instrument Instruction
- Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) Related to IFR Training
- Advanced Aerodynamics and Aircraft Systems for IFR
- Enroute, Approach, and Missed Approach Procedures
- Navigation Systems (VOR, GPS, ILS, etc.)
- Weather Interpretation and Decision-Making for IFR Operations
- IFR Flight Planning and Risk Management
- Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Communication Techniques
- Safety and Emergency Procedures in IMC

Flight Training
Part 61:
To obtain a Flight Instructor (CFI) license, a minimum of 15 To obtain an Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) license, you must demonstrate proficiency in the areas of operation required for an Instrument Rating.
The training duration is from 2 to 3 months, depending on the student’s schedule and progress.
Requirements
- Hold a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate
- Hold an FAA Instrument Rating
- Hold at least a third class medical certificate
- Be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Paperwork
- Registration form (completed at the flight school)
- Copy of passport
Payment Options
Option 1: As they go
The student has to make payments as he/she progresses through the course. A security deposit of $1,000 is required, which must be paid before the course begins.
Option 2: Pay upfront
The student can choose to pay the total course cost at once before the course starts. By selecting this option, the student will receive a discount on the total course price.
Option 3: Payment plan
The student can choose to pay in monthly installments, obtaining a discount and locking in prices.
